Non-Candy Halloween Treats: Friendship Bracelets For Halloween
Beaded jewelry of all types has continued to be hugely popular with all age groups, making knotted friendship bracelets and beaded bracelets a thoughtful handout for Halloween that is not food-related. Perfect for classmates, teacher Halloween gift or more, there are many different ways to use bracelets as a Halloween handout. We’ve included three versions of our free matching printable tag so you can find one that works for friends, teachers or anyone else (people). In all of these ideas, please review safety instructions and make a selection that is safe and age appropriate for your recipients.
Friendship Bracelets For Halloween: For beaded bracelets, you can make them and put beaded names on them, or include positive words or fun Halloween sayings! There are many kits to choose from, but we’d suggest purchasing one beading kit that is letter beads only and then choose the type of beads you want to pair with it. We say this because you don’t want to run out of letters and sometimes the bigger kits lack a variety of letter choices. Next, choose beads to go with your letter beads. There are plenty to select from, including clay bead kits, glass beads, or plastic beads. One tip is to choose a kit that has the colors you want and also includes string and clasps (if you’ll use those too)! There are many great video and web tutorials on how to make friendship bracelets (we like this DIY friendship bracelet post).
There are plenty of other options if you do not want to do too much beading! If you’re looking to use loom, that also works great for Halloween friendship bracelets and you can easily add letter beads to a loom bracelet as well! Simple knotted friendship bracelets are also a thoughtful and unique non-candy Halloween gift and can be inexpensively made with embroidery floss.
DIY Friendship Bracelets For Candy-Free Halloween: Another option for the “friendship bracelet for Halloween” concept is to handout DIY kits! Just get small resealable bags and fill them with a pre-measured amount of beads and string so the recipient gets to make their own bracelet! You could include beads that spell a name or a sweet message!

Our “Hope Your Halloween Is Popping With Fun” free printable Halloween tag has a wide variety of uses from bubbles to balloons, fidgets and more!
Bubbles For Non-Candy Halloween Treats: Bubbles are an easy and inexpensive Halloween treat that is non-food and appropriate for many ages. There are many bubble wands or mini-bottles that come as in bulk for a Halloween bubble surprise! Since it can be a slippery liquid, check with teacher before sending into school. These work great for non-food Halloween items for trick or treaters, party favors or guests!
Popping Fidgets For Halloween: Fidgets come in all shapes and sizes, but for this food-free Halloween idea (to match our “popping Halloween” tags) we are thinking more of the popping fidgets that resemble bubble wrap. These bubble fidgets come as bubble balls, popping keychains, flat rubber popping toys and more. The keychains often come in bulk and easily attach to the Halloween gift tags!
Hope Your Halloween Is Popping, Popcorn Tags: While this post is dedicated to non-candy Halloween treats, we are making just ONE exception with popcorn as an option. Always check first, but sometimes that’s an acceptable non-candy Halloween goodie. This is great for trick or treaters and is especially popular with our real estate professionals who are often looking for Halloween real estate pop-by ideas or open house handouts for Halloween. One tip, use prepackaged popcorn that includes all ingredients labeled. We love Skinny Pop, as it has minimal ingredients and is well priced in bulk.

Straw Toppers as a Halloween Favor: With the popularity of the Stanley water bottle and other similar style water bottles with straws, a straw topper can also be a unique non-food Halloween idea. These are designed to reduces spills, keep the straw hygienic and keep bugs out of the drinks. Once again, you could choose cute Halloween-style straw toppers or everyday straw-toppers.
Glow-Sticks (or Glow Bracelets or Necklaces) For Trick Or Treaters: One of the reasons we like glow sticks for a Halloween non-candy handout is because kids can wear them trick-or-treating. While kids need more light than just a glow stick to be seen at night, it certainly won’t hurt!
Wax Craft Sticks as a Non-Food Halloween Idea: Often referred to as “Wikki Stix” these are a fun little bendable wax sticks that can be reused over and over. They can easily be purchased as a bulk bag of wax sticks and are great for long car rides or restaurant visits as they aren’t messy and are easy to pack up!
